Josh is a young Scottish defender who progressed through the Spartans academy and signed his first senior contract in 2022. He primarily plays as a right-back.Laing made 11 appearances and scored once in the Lowland League during the 2022–23 campaign before transitioning with Spartans into League Two. He also spent part of the 2024-25 season on loan at Civil Service Strollers, where he gained valuable minutes and netted his first goal at that level. Josh spent season 2026/26 on loan at the Rose and made the move permanent in May 2026.
