Gala Fairydean Rovers F.C. V Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic F.C.

East of Scotland Qualifying Cup 2026-27 (Round 3)

We are back on the road again as we return to the East of Scotland Qualifying 3rd round at Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Both sides come into this match after the disappointment of exiting the Scottish Cup at the first stage.

This match is a repeat of the 3rd round fixture from last season when “The Rose” came away with a 0-3 victory to progress to the next round.

Bonnyrigg rose will be aiming to go one better than last season in this competition when we reached the final.

In the previous round Bonnyrigg Rose defeated Tweedmouth Rangers 7-0 at New Dundas Park with Gala Fairydean Rovers defeating Glenrothes 12-0.

This match promises to be a tight affair with these sides meeting on a regular basis over the past couple of seasons in cup competitions as well as the Lowland League.

GFR are currently under a caretaker Manager in Steven Noble with Martin Scott moving to Berwick Rangers recently.

“Rose” Manager Jonny Stewart will be looking for a reaction to the cup defeat last time out and will be hoping to get some of the injured players back as soon as possible.

The draw for the 4th round of this competition was made at the time of the 3rd round where the winners of this tie will play the winner of the Haddington Athletic v Tranent fixture.
