Having signed a contract extension in June, skipper Jonny Stewart is about to begin his tenth season at New Dundas Park having joined the club in 2014 after leaving East Fife.
We’re delighted to announce that Jonny’s exemplary service will be recognised and celebrated with two events to mark his testimonial year.
On Sunday 8th October, there will be a Testimonial Dinner to honour the club’s most successful captain. This will take place at the Loanhead Miners Club with proceedings getting underway at 12:00. The event will be hosted by well renowned sports broadcaster Peter Martin, who will be joined by two guest speakers. Ex professional footballer and now popular after dinner speaker, Frank McAvennie and the award winning comedian Joe Camay will both be on hand to keep you entertained.
Jonny will also be awarded with a testimonial match to celebrate his service on the pitch, further details of which will be announced in due course.
Jonny has won numerous honours with the Rose, including the Fife & Lothians Cup, x2 Super League Titles, EoSFL Title & the Lowland League title, not to mention captaining his side to the SPFL for the first time in the clubs history. The legendary skipper is on course to make his 300th appearance when the new campaign kicks off. As a hugely popular figure amongst the supporters, we hope to see a big turnout at both events to pay tribute to a club legend.
Tickets
Tickets for the event cost £30 and include a choice of chicken curry or stovies.
