Club update
We continue to operate as best as we can given the obvious contraints at present with a view to being good to go once it has been decided that it is safe to commence next season. We had our good friends Pro Turfcare Ltd at New Dundas Park to start their annual pitch maintenance work and Charlie, Jimmy and Stevie from our own committee have laid additional drains on the dugout side of NDP. A combination of both factors should counteract the issues we had this season with drainge but we are also unlikely to be met with the same sustained weather conditions faced for five months of the season just finished in future.
The majority of our playing squad have signed contracts for next season, with most committing themselves to the Rose until the season beyond. We announced earlier this week that loan signing Daniel Baur has returned to parent club Heart of Midlothian. The big man was great for us during his ten month loan spell but as importantly he was a credit to both himself and his parent club with the way he conducted himself.
We are pleased to confirm the transfer from Tynecastle FC of 20 year old striker Jordan Smith. The young frontman finished top of the EoS Conference charts this season and we are delighted to have him on board. We will provide more detail on this later in the week. The manager is continuing to work hard to add to what is already a very strong squad and again, we will provide more details on these once signings have been completed and the necessary paperwork registered.
We have had numerous enquiries in respect of season tickets for next season. We will announce details of these once we have clarity on the league we are in and how many teams make up that league. We will be offering a discount to current season ticket holders in lieu of not being able to attend all games this season and should all games not be played next season we will offer a similar discount for season 21/22. We are able to open player sponsorship next week as our prices of £50 home and £50 away are frozen for next season, irrespective of what league we are in.
We would like to thank Stephen Watson who earlier this week put out an advert on our behalf for media personnel next season. The response has been hugely positive and we would hope to have additional support with this aspect once the season commences.
League update
The reconstruction group continue to discuss the potential options that will make up the SPFL for next season. We are outside of those discussions so we can only go on what the media are publishing but it is pleasing to see that league expansion is still an option, which would mean as a minimum promotion for Kelty Hearts and Brora Rangers & in line with our wishes since the Lowland League was declared as finished. You can read our thoughts on the reconstruction debate made last week in the Edinburgh Evening News or listen to them on the Official Catchup Podcast.
We also hope to see our old junior rivals Bo'ness Utd in the Lowland League next season now that the EoS League has been declared as complete.
Community
We continue to promote information of use to our local community through our social media channels and would like to hear from sponsors or non sponsors if they are currently providing a service which we can help to highlight through our Contact form. Communication through whatever channel has never been more important in our lives than it is at the moment.
Our club only survives due to our supporters and community. Please continue to adhere to government guidelines and keep in touch with the most vulnerable in our society. We will do whatever we can to help with that.
