After five home matches in a row in three competitions, we are back on the road as we head down the A1 to Shielfield Park to face Berwick Rangers in the Lowland League East.

With three wins and one defeat so far in this League season “The Rose” currently sit in 3rd place and our hosts 11th in this competitive division.

Berwick Rangers under Manager Kevin Haynes have had a tough start to the season but secured their first victory of the season with a stoppage time goal to defeat University of Stirling 3-2.

In the previous League outing Bonnyrigg Rose defeated East Stirling 4-1 at New Dundas Park with goals where Laurie Devine opened the scoring ten minutes from half time, but the visitors equalised just on half time.

“The Rose” scored at the start of the 2nd half through Mackenzie Scott and a late Jordan Smith double secured the points.

These sides played out a 2-2 draw at Shielfield Park near the end of last season with all the goals coming in a 30-minute period either side of half time.

Manager Jonny Stewart will be looking to have more luck on the injury front with a few players missing from the past number of matches.

On a positive note, these injuries have allowed several of the U20s squad to come in and show their quality and gain First team minutes.
