We return to New Dundas Park for our latest Lowland League East fixture where we entertain East Stirlingshire.

The Rose will be looking to put the previous League outing behind them after the Brechin City defeat at NDP.

Despite taking an early lead through a Billy King goal the game was decided by two Brechin goals in a 15-minute period midway through the first half.

Despite a strong effort in the second half Bonnyrigg Rose could not find an equaliser and to go down to the first defeat of the season.

East Stirling under Manager Callum Tapping have made a strong start to this League season after having a tough time last season with two wins and a draw in their opening three League matches.

Last time out they defeated UoS 2-0 at Ochilview.

These sides last met at New Dundas Park last February where “The Rose” ran out 4-0 victors with a Josh Laing brace followed by goals from Jay McGarva and Billy King.

Midweek The Rose defeated Tweedmouth Rangers 7-0 in the 2nd round of the EoS Qualifying Cup.

After a stuffy first half Jay McGarva scored for Bonnyrigg just before half time and scored the 2nd just after half time.

A Jordan Smith hat- trick and goals from Ross Gray and Brodie Armstrong gave a much-changed Bonnyrigg Rose side an excellent win to reach the 3rd round of this competition.

Looking forward to Saturday and hopefully getting a reaction after the disappointment of last week.

Tuesday’s result was good and it was great to get so many young boys on the park and enhance that pathway again.

East Stirling will be a difficult game.

They’ve started the season well and will be a completely different team to last season.

Callum Tapping is a good manager and has recruited well.

We must get back to winning ways and to do that we will need to be at our best.
