Goals from Max Dowling, Rudi Bryce and Josh Laing for Bonnyrigg secured a semi-final spot in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup after coming from behind against Armadale Thistle on Tuesday night.
Thistle started the game strong, and after forcing an early set of saves from Connelly, they went ahead 24 minutes in after Calum Heath bore down one-on-one and dispatched.
The set-back didn't linger for Rose and they levelled just five minutes after. Lee Currie saw a free-kick on the edge of the area hit the Thistle wall, however it wasn't dealt with and was played in again allowing Max Dowling to hit a low effort across goal to equalise.
Corrie Fellows almost put Rose ahead with a bullet header which sailed just wide, but after a booking for Max Dowling, the half-time whistle went with the scores level.
Bonnyrigg came out the dressing room sharper in the second half, with Cammie Ross and Danny Dobbie replacing Lee Currie and Kallum Higginbotham.
Jones and Dobbie had half-attempts at goal which didn't trouble Murphy, with Connelly denying a goal-bound header from Lewis Alexander at the other end.
Corrie Fellows picked up a booking for stopping a Thistle break. Josh Laing was also cautioned six minutes after following a very soft tackle.
Rose were pushing Thistle as the half developed, and they took the lead 74 minutes in. A distance-shot from Rudi Bryce was saved well by Murphy, yet the danger remained which found Billy King with space to strike, taking a nick from Bryce in doing so and in for 2-1.
Josh Beveridge replaced Alassan Jones in the 80th minute.
Josh Laing was painfully denied a goal by the crossbar minutes before, but 82 minutes in the right-back got his goal. After a corner was swung in from Billy King, pinball ensued within the box, yet Laing got the defining foot in and sealed the tie for Rose.
Max Dowling and Billy King were replaced by Brodie Armstrong and Reece Gaylor shortly after the goal.
Laing's evening was cut short after earning a red card from his second booking 85 minutes in.
The referee blew for full-time to send Rose into the semi-finals of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup in tricky game, but one they nevertheless deserved to win. Bonnyrigg now look ahead to more home comforts, hosting East Stirlingshire at NDP on Saturday afternoon.
