We are back at NDP this time in Scottish Cup action as we entertain Spartans FC in this 3rd round tie.

Matches between these sides have been tough and very competitive over the past few seasons and this one will be no different.

In the previous five matches between these sides both have two wins apiece with the other match drawn.

Spartans under Manager Dougie Samuel defeated East Kilbride 2-1 at The Vanloq Community Stadium in the previous round of this

competition with a quick fire double from McNulty on the hour mark after going behind from a 20th minute penalty.

Bonnyrigg Rose have defeated fellow Lowland League teams Broxburn Athletic and Cumbernauld Colts in the previous rounds to reach this stage.

Both sides come into this tie is good form with “The Rose” climbing the Lowland League table after a run of positive results now that we have returned to New Dundas Park.

Spartans FC are currently top of League 2 and despite a setback against Stranraer last time out that was their only defeat in the previous six matches.

Scottish cup week which always brings a massive buzz and what a game to go with it.

A little break from league duty where the boys have been flying.

Saturday was another big performance and 3 points against a good Broxburn side.

Despite having a lot of injuries, Spartans are still sitting top of league 2 so it will be a very hard game.

They have a good, experienced squad and Dougie will have them well prepared so we will need to be at our best to get a result.

We are on a good run though and go into the game with confidence that we can give anyone a game just now, especially at home.

There have been many special Scottish cup moments at NDP over the years, and the supporters have always turned out in numbers.

Hopefully Saturday will be the same and they can roar us onto an upset and through to the next round.
