Fellow Lowland League side Cumbernauld defeated Glasgow University in the first round of this competition and will provide a stern test for “The Rose”.

Cumbernauld are under long time Manager John Doyle finished in 14th place in the Lowland League last season.

In the previous round in this competition Bonnyrigg Rose defeated Broxburn Athletic 2-1 at Ferguson Park with goals from Neil Martyniuk and Cammie Ross.

Despite going down to 10 men after Lee Currie was sent off and a late Broxburn goal “The Rose” sealed their place in this round.

These sides have already met in the Lowland League this season when a second half Laurie Devine goal sealed the points under the Tuesday night lights at Ferguson Park.

Both sides come into this match after 3-2 home League victories in their previous matches.

Bonnyrigg Rose defeated League leaders Clydebank in the New Dundas Park homecoming with Cumbernauld Colts victorious over Gala Fairydean Rovers.
