Rudi Bryce scored his first competitive goal in red and white as Bonnyrigg Rose eased past Cowdenbeath Central to ensure progress in the South Challenge Cup.
The Kelty Hearts loanee broke the deadlock within just fifteen minutes, playing a neat one-two with Alassan Jones before coolly slotting past goalkeeper David Chalmers.
A flurry of chances followed and confidence was clearly growing with the hosts showing little threat. A number of opportunities to extend the lead in the first half were spurned, although Bryce came close to scoring a second - flicking a Billy King corner agonisingly wide of the far post.
A corner kick would eventually pay its dividends when Dean Hoskins powered home a header on the brink of half time to make up for those previously missed chances.
The Rose picked up where they left off for the second half and nearly found a third in spectacular fashion when Alassan Jones rattled the crossbar from a free kick.
Laurie Devine and Cameron Ross were soon introduced and the latter would put the result beyond any doubts, wriggling into the penalty area and rolling a left footed effort into the far corner from a tight angle.
Manager Jonny Stewart will undoubtedly be looking to build on a professional performance when the Rose return to league action next Saturday,
