Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic F.C. v East Stirlingshire F.C.
Lowland League 2025-26
07/02/2026 3:00pm New Dundas Park
“The Rose” return to League action this Saturday as we entertain East Stirlingshire at New Dundas Park in what will be our first Home League match of 2026 after a run of postponements and Cup fixtures over the past number of weeks.
East Stirlingshire who are now Managed by Callum Tapping have endured a tough time this season are currently in 18th place in the Division.
In their previous League outing East Stirlingshire were defeated 1-4 by Cowdenbeath at Ochilview Park but will provide a challenge for a Bonnyrigg Rose side that are on an excellent run of form at present that has seen the side move to the top of the League table after what was a difficult start to the season all round.
In our previous League fixture Bonnyrigg Rose secured an excellent 1-5 victory against Civil Service Strollers in a match that was played at the Vanloq Stadium after Christie Gillies Park had been deemed unplayable.
These sides last met on a warm Friday night fixture at Ochilview Park when “The Rose” secured a 1-5 victory with a brace each for Laurie Devine and Cammie Ross and a Lee Currie stunning free kick securing the points.
The Match Preview thoughts of Manager Jonny Stewart –
Looking forward to getting back to league business after a short break.
It’s feels like we haven’t played many games recently due to the weather so I’m hoping it improves and we can put a run of games together again.
Last time out in the league it was a great result and performance away to Civil who are always a hard team to play against.
It was brilliant to go top of the league but as I stressed to the boys we haven’t done anything yet.
There’s still a lot of football to be played and we will need to keep our performance levels high right to the end of the season.
East Stirling might be bottom of the league, but I still expect a hard game.
There are no easy fixtures in this league, and I am sure they will come well prepared.
They have some good players and a good young coach so we will need to be at our best to get 3 points.
It was great to add Gregor Nicol to the squad this week. Gregor will add real quality in the final third and I am looking forward to working with him.
C`mon the rose
