Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic F.C. v Gala Fairydean Rovers F.C.
Lowland League 2025-26
10/01/2026 3:00pm New Dundas Park
We return to New Dundas Park for our first outing of 2026 as we entertain Gala Fairydean Rovers in our latest Lowland League fixture.
“The Rose” will be aiming to maintain the excellent run of results from the end of last year that have moved the club up to 2nd place in the League table.
This will be the third meeting between these clubs this season with Bonnyrigg Rose winning both previous meetings 0-3 that were both played at Netherdale.
In the reverse League meeting in our first away fixture of this season two first half goals from Higginbotham and Jones and a late Cammie Ross goal secured the first League points of this season for Bonnyrigg Rose.
Gala Fairydean Rovers under Manager Martin Scott are currently 11th in the table and have won two out of previous three League outings including away wins at Celtic B and Gretna 2008 and will provide a tough test for a Bonnyrigg Rose side whose last outing was an important victory over Tranent at New Dundas Park just before Christmas.
An early Callum Connolly header was the difference between the sides in a match that was played in front of a large home support.
Match Preview thoughts of Manager Jonny Stewart.
Happy New Year to the Rose faithful, I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and New Year. Helped with another big 3 points against Tranent!
The game itself wasn’t much of a spectacle and Tranent made it difficult for us. The players dug deep though and found a way to win which was pleasing.
I was disappointed our games against Berwick and Stirling Uni were called off as I want to keep the momentum going but it is January in Scotland after all and we can’t control the weather.
Hopefully Saturdays match goes ahead as the squad are desperate to get back at it. Gala will be a hard game.
Although results for them have been a bit up and down, they have good players and can cause problems on their day.
We have came through a very difficult run of fixtures but there are no easy games in this league and we will need to be at our best to come away with 3 points.
Cmon the Rose ?
