Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic F.C. v Tranent F.C.
Lowland League 2025-26
23/12/2025 7:45pm New Dundas Park
In our final fixture of 2025, we entertain Tranent FC in another vital Lowland League fixture under the lights at New Dundas Park.
These sides come into this match in excellent form and top of the form guide and are both unbeaten in the previous eight League matches.
In our previous Lowland League outing “The Rose” turned around a 0-2 deficit to defeat Cowdenbeath 3-2.
The away side took the lead midway through the first half and doubled their lead just after half time and it was looking like the excellent run could be coming to an end.
Queue the comeback Alassan Jones found the Cowdenbeath net after 50 minutes and raised the atmosphere and the mood inside the stadium.
Cammie Ross scored the equaliser with 10 minutes left and Bonnyrigg Rose were now chasing the winning goal to maintain the excellent run, and it came in injury time when substitute Jay McGarva struck from the edge of the penalty box to secure the points and again the team showed the character and desire to grab the victory.
Tranent FC due to issues with their home pitch played their previous League match at Spartans when they entertained Gretna 2008.
Both goals came in the second half where Gretna scored a late equaliser to share the points with a 1-1 draw.
In the first match between these sides this season Tranent FC secured the points with a last-minute Dean Brett penalty after a tough encounter with very few chances for both sides.
These sides know each other well with several members of Management teams and the playing squads having been involved with the opposition team.
Match Preview - Jonny Stewart Manager
A Christmas cracker under the lights at NDP.
A massive Lowland league fixture for the club and one we are all looking forward to.
It’s important that we keep our good league form going and that was one of the main reasons for the changes I made at the weekend.
Tranent are a good side and on a decent run themselves so we will need to be at our best.
Hopefully we can get a good crowd to roar us on to 3 points.
