Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic F.C. v Civil Service Strollers F.C.
Lowland League 2025-26
01/11/2025 3:00pm New Dundas Park
We return to New Dundas and to Lowland League action where Civil Service Strollers are the visitors.
This is the first of two games in a three day period at NDP.
“The Rose” with 5 wins in a row in all competitions are now up to 5th position in the table and will be aiming to continue this winning run against a Strollers side who are currently standing in 12th position after a mixed run of results.
Civil Service Strollers who are Managed by Gary Jardine have won their previous two League matches on the road at Gala and Stirling and will provide a stern test for the home side.
In the previous League outing Bonnyrigg Rose defeated the League leaders Clydebank 3-2 in the first game back at New Dundas Park.
“The Rose” then followed this excellent result with an excellent 0-2 Scottish Cup win at Cumbernauld to reach the 3rd round of the competition.
Previously in the League the Strollers were defeated 1-3 by in form Broxburn Athletic at Christie Gillies Park.
In the previous League match between these sides in October 2021 three second half goals secured the points for “The Rose”.
Match notes of Manager Jonny Stewart
It's been a massive week for the club.
Being back home at NDP was a great occasion for everyone involved with Bonnyrigg.
I'm sure anyone who was there would agree the place is looking fantastic.
The players then put on a performance which in my opinion deserved the 3 points.
I thought it was a very good game between 2 good sides, so I was delighted to come away with the 3 points.
My challenge to the players was to then back that up against Cumbernauld in the Scottish Cup and they did.
While I did think we could have played slightly better, I was obviously delighted to get through.
A home tie against Spartans to look forward to but we have a lot of league business before then which must take our focus.
Starting Saturday against Civil who are always a hard team to play against. Gary works wonders with them every year and I am expecting a very difficult game.
However, we are on a decent wee run at the moment, and players should be confident going into the match.
Cmon the rose!
