Heart of Midlothian F.C. B v Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic F.C.
Lowland League 2025-26
03/10/2025 7:45pm Ainslie Park
For the third match in six days, we make the short trip to Ainslie Park to play Hearts B under the Friday night lights.
After the Cup win in our final fixture at Ferguson Park we travelled to Newtown Park on Tuesday night to face Bo`ness United in the Lowland League.
Manager Jonny Stewart named an unchanged side from the team that had defeated Broxburn Athletic in the Scottish Cup.
After a bright start “The Rose” got the early opening goal, their play had deserved when Laurie Devine ran through on goal and slotted into the back of the Bo`ness net.
Bonnyrigg Rose had further opportunities to extend the lead but could not find a way past Matthew Wallace in the Bo’ness goal.
Against the run of play the home side scored the equalising goal just before half time when former Rose loanee Kieran Mitchell scored from the edge of the penalty box.
The second half belonged mainly to Bo’ness with Bonnyrigg Rose controlling the final 15 minutes where a late Laurie Devine header was deemed offside to leave the sides sharing the points after hard fought contest.
Manager Jonny Stewart was left frustrated at the end where after the control of the first half was replaced by a tough second half.
In their previous outing Hearts B defeated Celtic B at the Excelsior Stadium after a 70th minute Tommy North penalty secured the points.
Hearts B under Head Coach Angus Beith have had a mixed start to their League campaign but are unbeaten in their previous four matches and will provide another tough test for “The Rose “after the efforts of the previous two games this week.
