In the previous midweek fixtures Tranent entertained East Stirlingshire and in a tight match secured the points with a late second half injury time goal to secure the 1-0 victory.

“The Rose” were up against old foes in Albion Rovers and in a lively contest drew 1-1 under the Tuesday night lights at Ferguson Park.

Bonnyrigg started brightly and were denied the opener when Cammie Ross headed in from a corner but was adjudged to have fouled the Albion Rovers Goalkeeper Gaffney.

Cammie did then get the opener when he took advantage of a defensive mix up just after the halfway mark in the first half.

The lead was short lived when Hunter found the net from the edge of the box to give the visitors an equaliser.

Just before half time Bonnyrigg had the opportunity to take the lead again when we were awarded a penalty after a foul on Cammie Ross but after a delay the Neil Martyniuk penalty was well saved by Gaffney.

The second half again was a very competitive affair and despite some good chances neither side could find a winner leaving the points to be shared.

These sides have not met in a competitive match since January 2022 when Bonnyrigg came away from Foresters Park with a 0-2 victory in the EoS Qualifying Cup.
