Bonnyrigg shared the points with Albion Rovers following a cagey encounter at Ferguson Park.

A scrappy opening fifteen minutes saw few chances for either side, the best of which fell to Kian Speirs.

His long range effort looked set to find the top corner but Rovers goalkeeper Daniel Gaffney produced a top save to deny him.

The Rose looked to have taken the league from the first corner of the game but were denied by the referee's whistle, who had deemed there to be a foul on a Rovers player.

Cameron Ross would break the deadlock ten minutes later.

A deep cross caused chaos in the penalty box and the ball kindly fell to Ross, who scored for the fourth time in his last three games.

The joy was unfortunately short-lived as Rovers swiftly equalised through Daniel Hunter, whose thunderous effort from distance found the bottom corner.

On the cusp of half time, the Rose were awarded a penalty after a foul was committed inside the penalty area.

It sadly wasn't to be for Neil Martyniuk, who saw his penalty saved by Gaffney.

The second half was similarly cagey, with little to separate the two sides.

Substitute Dean Hoskins had a late chance to clinch all free points when he met a deep corner but his header dropped just wide.

The Rose are back in league action on Saturday, playing away to Tranent.
