Bonnyrigg Rose travelled along the A7 to Netherdale to face Gala Fairydean Rovers in our first league away day.
Manager Jonny Stewart made three changes from the side that went down to a disappointing defeat at Ferguson Park against Gretna FC 2008.
Corrie Fellows, Alassan Jones and Kian Spiers came in for Kieran Somerville, Rudi Bryce and Billy King.
The first 20 minutes were end to end without any clear-cut chances for either side.
Just on the half hour mark Kallum Higginbotham had the ball in the net but was ruled out for offside.
That gave “The Rose” the momentum and they continued to push forward and created chances for Cammie Ross that just missed.
The breakthrough came after 41`minutes when Josh Laing found Kallum Higginbotham who found the net from the edge of the box.
Bonnyrigg Rose then added a second just before the break when Alassan Jones pounced on a defensive error to round the Goalkeeper to put “The Rose” two up going in at the break.
The second half was a cagier affair with the home side creating a couple of chances but were unable to find the net.
“The Rose” finished the game as a contest when Cammie Ross on his birthday converted from a Corrie Fellows cross.
Manager Jonny Stewart was very happy especially with the first half performance and how we controlled the game from there.
*Next match we visit Central Park to face Cowdenbeath with a 3pm kick off on Saturday 2nd August.
