We start our League campaign for season 25/26 as welcome Gretna 2008 to Ferguson Park.
Manager Jonny Stewart will be looking to get off to a good start as the games come thick and fast at the start of this season.
Gretna 2008 who are Managed by Vinnie Parker finished 15th in the Lowland League last season have a mixture of youth and experience in their squad.
The team from Raydale Park will be looking to turn around their form from the end of last season which saw only one draw in the final six league games but will still give “The Rose” a tough test.
Amongst the players to look out for the away side are Dean Brotherston who was the top scorer from midfield last season and experienced striker Ian Anderson.
Bonnyrigg Rose have warmed up for the league campaign with the participation in the Premier Sports Cup where despite the defeats the team have looked very competitive and have played a lot of excellent football.
The thoughts of Manager Jonny Stewart
Hello and welcome to our new temporary home for our opening fixture in the Lowland league.
Although results weren't great in the Premier Sports Cup, I think anyone who was at these matches would agree the players performed really well in all the games and were unlucky not to finish with any points.
There was definitely more positives than negatives for me and we start our league campaign in a good place.
We host Gretna today in what will be a hard game.
There are no easy games in the LL now so we will need to make sure we are at our best.
I played against Gretna twice last season and was impressed with them, and Vinnie has done a great job.
I hope to see a good crowd here today (and all season) as your backing is vital to the players.
I'd like to think we are playing a more attractive style of play which hopefully the fans are enjoying.
Let’s kick off with 3 points.
Cmon the Rose!
