We travelled to Arbroath to meet Montrose in our third match of this seasons Premier Sports Cup.
Manager Jonny Stewart made two changes from the side that faced Airdrie on Tuesday night with Corrie Fellows coming in for the suspended Josh Laing and Cammie Ross coming in for Callum Connelly.
The match was played in a constant downpour which made conditions difficult for the players.
In a tight first half both sides created several chances with “The Rose” going close with chances from Higginbotham and Bryce.
Just as the first half looked like it was going to end goalless Kallum Higginbotham converted from close range to score the first Bonnyrigg goal in this season’s competition.
Montrose started the second half with purpose and were level 3 minutes into the half through an unfortunate Corrie Fellows own goal.
Two minutes later the home side made it 2-1 and kept the pressure on the Bonnyrigg defence adding two more goals in the final 10 minutes.
“The Rose” now turn their attention to Tuesday night where we face Premier League Dundee in our final Premier Sports Cup tie of this season.
