Jonny Stewart made one change the team that lost the first leg at K-Park, with Hibernian loanee Murray Aiken missing out with an injury after limping off in the away leg. Captain Kerr Young returned to the team and deputised at centre-back alongside Neil Martyniuk, with Callum Connolly moving further up the field into a more advanced role.
East Kilbride showed their attacking threat in the first-leg, and they almost opened the scoring as Joao Balde had a go from an awkward angle on the volley, forcing Paddy Martin to scramble across to palm it away for a corner.
Rose roared up the pitch as they looked for an important early goal, Aaron Arnott, who scored in the first leg, meeting a cross from Cammy Ross at the front post but the strike lacked the direction to get it on target to trouble Chris Truesdale.
Reagan Mimnaugh had the final chance of the first 45, smashing it from range and forcing Martin another heroic save that the Rose faithful have become so used to from him.
Rose needed goals, and fast, and Kerr Young would've thought he had the Rosey Posey ahead on the day when he rose highest to meet an Arnott corner, but he saw his header cannon back off of the crossbar.
East Kilbride eventually scrambled it out for another corner, which was again met by Young who this time saw his header denied by a flying save from Truesdale.
Rose kept pushing for a goal, Cammy Ross flashing a shot across goal in the latter stages of the game, but ultimately Rose didn't do enough on the day to work their way back into the game.
Unfortunately this result confirms that Bonnyrigg Rose will be competing in the Lowland League for the 2025/2026 season, with fixtures set to be confirmed at a later date.
The club would like to thank the thousands of supporters who came along to get behind the boys yesterday, and the fans who have shown unwavering support and dedication towards the club through the toughest of periods that we have faced this season.
