Rose made the journey to K-Park as they faced East Kilbride for the first leg of the Scottish Pyramid League 2 play offs.
Jonny Stewart named an unchanged 11 from previous weeks.
East Kilbride took the lead after 2 minutes in from a corner, as Elliot headed into the top left corner.
Cammy Ross had Rose’s first chance of the afternoon, shimmying away from the East Kilbride defence and dragging his shot just wide of the post in the 6th minute.
Bonnyrigg Rose would equalise 10 minutes later as Aaron Arnott fired the ball into the bottom left corner from a Kieran Somerville pass to level the game.
Arnott and Ross would each have two more chances for the half, a shot from inside the box by Cammy Rose came close, and an Aaron Arnott free kick drew a save from Truesdale near the end of the first half.
Rose looked to carry their first-half momentum into the second, but the hosts struck early Elliot, once again the danger man, found the net as East Kilbride scored in the 52nd minute.
McGregor added a third for East Kilbride to seal the game, as Rose now turns their attention to the second leg of the play-off next Saturday.
A big thank you to the Rose faithful for their unwavering support, it will be needed once again at NDP.
