Gregor Bruce
Rose Defeated at Borough Briggs
Rose made the long journey north to face Alan Hale’s Elgin City.
Calum Elliot named an unchanged starting XI from Saturday’s victory. Rose started the first half with an intense press, but it was the home side who took the lead, with Hester scoring in the 23rd minute. Rose went into half-time trailing 1-0.
Elgin doubled their advantage early in the second half when Dolzanski headed in from a corner in the 57th minute. Hester then secured his brace in the 80th minute, sealing a dominant performance for the hosts.
Cammy Ross and Brock Watson had Rose’s best chances late on, but they were unable to convert, capping off a frustrating evening.
Rose now turn their attention to Saturday’s clash against Peterhead at NDP.
