Jonny Stewart made two changes from last week’s game at Clyde, with Cammy Ross returning from suspension and Callum Connolly being deployed at centre-back.
The first half presented few chances for both sides.
Notably, Lee Currie had the closest opportunity in the 26th minute, as a diving Glavin met the ball with a strong hand.
Three minutes later, Currie had another chance from a set piece, hitting the post directly from a corner.
Ryan Porteous had a chance shortly after in the 36th minute.
Andy McNeil made two saves in quick succession, denying two goal-scoring opportunities and keeping the game level at the break.
Gavin provided early second-half chances for Elgin.
Golding scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute, bundling in a rebound.
Keiran McGachie had his shot cleared off the line late in the game and had a one-on-one attempt claimed by the Elgin keeper—Rose’s best chances of the half.
The Rose faithful now turn their attention to next Saturday’s fixture away to Peterhead
