Rose Suffer Defeat at NDP to Forfar
Calum Elliot made two changes from the previous week, bringing in Ryan Porteous in attacking midfield and Callum Connolly in a deeper midfield role.
The first half didn’t present many chances, as both teams battled for possession.
In the 16th minute, Lee Currie tested McCallum with a powerful low-driven free kick, forcing the Forfar goalkeeper into a save.
Forfar took the lead in the 30th minute when McAllister unleashed a strike from distance, leaving McNeil with no chance
Rose created more significant chances in the second half, with the best opportunities falling to Keiran McGachie and Kerr Young—McGachie in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and Young’s header being cleared off the Forfar goal line.
However, Forfar sealed the victory in the 80th minute with a second goal following a deflection off the Rose backline.
New signing McNeil produced some excellent saves in the final 10 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a frustrating afternoon for Rose.
Bonnyrigg Rose now turn their attention to next week’s game at Ainslie Park, where they face Douglas Samuel’s Spartans.
