Rose Back to Winning Ways:
Bonnyrigg Rose Defeat Stranraer to End a Frustrating Run of Form
Bonnyrigg Rose returned to NDP to play Stranraer.
Calum Elliot made five changes to the Rose side from the weekend, with personnel changes including Angus Mailer back from suspension, followed by Gallagher Lennon returning in defence, Lee Currie and Ryan Porteous in midfield, and Mark Ferrie on the wing.
Rose pressed with hunger from the get-go, hunting the ball down from the first whistle. Bradley Barrett gave Rose the lead in the 33rd minute with a great shimmying body feint before slotting a low-driven shot home, beating Lane in the Stranraer net.
Neil Martyniuk extended Rose’s lead just three minutes later when Cammy Ross was awarded a penalty after being brought down by Craig Ross.
Rose went into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Rose continued their positive momentum at the start of the second half, as Cammy Ross scored in the 52nd minute with a shot that took a slight deflection off Ross and McIntosh.
Stranraer pulled one back through Mark Russell, but Rose showed great resilience, with the back four being marshalled well to see the game out and secure a crucial victory.
