Calum Elliot would field a slightly different-looking Rose side compared to the weekend, with Mikey Andrews returning in goal in the absence of Paddy Martin, and Tom Ritchie recalled from his loan spell at Aberdeen.
Rose made three changes from Saturday’s win: Andrews starting in goal, Lewis Lorimer coming into midfield, and Keiran McGachie coming in up front.
Rose started the game with strong spells of possession, working through phases to maintain control of the ball for extended periods.
Both sides created few clear-cut goalscoring opportunities in what proved to be a tightly contested match.
Bonnyrigg Rose’s best chance of the first half came in the 5th minute when Sean Murphy played Cammy Ross through on goal, but Ross was unable to apply the finishing touch.
Stirling’s most notable opportunities came from a powerful Dale Carrick volley from outside the box in the 22nd minute and a Josh Kerr header in the 35th minute.
Just before halftime, Angus Mailer came to Rose’s rescue with a crucial block, denying Adam Brown a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Rose took control of the the game and dominated possession early in the second half.
They created chances quickly, with Keiran McGachie testing Derek Gaston just five minutes into the half.
Bonnyrigg broke the deadlock shortly afterward, as Lewis Lorimer scored following a nutmeg ball played from Cammy Ross.
Rose doubled their lead in quick succession, with Ross once again playing a key role this time finding the net off a rebound after Kerr Young’s shot hit the crossbar.
From there, Rose kept control of the game, comfortably keeping possession, and keeping a high defensive line.
Despite their dominance, Adam Brown scored a late goal for Stirling in stoppage time, denying Rose a clean sheet. However, Bonnyrigg secured all three points at NDP.
Bonnyrigg Rose will look to build on their strong league form when they face The Spartans F.C. this Saturday in their third consecutive home game.
