Bonnyrigg Rose welcomed Ian McCall's Clyde to an incredibly windy New Dundas Park, Rose's first home fixture in almost 3 weeks.
The first half wasn't the prettiest, with both sides not seeing many clear-cut chances fall their way. Lee Connelly was threatening in the early stages, blazing the Bully Wee's first chance of the game over Tom Ritchie's goal.
The visitors wouldn't pass up their next opportunity, and after a mishap at the back, a goal-saving clearance couldn't prevent Rose from conceding as Luke Scullion eventually forced it over the line.
Cammy Ross was the first to test the towering frame of Brian Kinnear in the Clyde net, and his first-half chance was easily collected by the keeper.
Connelly continued his attempts to get on the scoresheet, but his powerful volley also went over the crossbar.
Rose started the second-half like a team that were desperate to right the wrongs of the opening 45, and they were finally handed that little bit of fortune that they had been hoping for, as Logan Dunachie was shown a second yellow card by the referee less than 5 minutes in.
After being on the wrong side of red cards in the last few fixtures, Rose were eager to make the numerical advantage count, and they immediately grabbed an equaliser as Bradley Barrett nodded in Kieran Somerville's cross after some good link-up play between the left-back and his former Tranent teammate Kallum Higginbotham.
The winning goal would follow the equaliser in quick succession as Callum Connolly forced his way into the box where he found Angus Mailer who blasted it past Kinnear to get New Dundas Park bouncing.
Rose really should have added to that second late in the game, with Kinnear getting down well to his left to deny Ross a first Rose goal.
Mailer and Connolly went close late in the game, but Rose didn't need a third goal to kill off the game as they got their first 3 points of the season in the bag.
The team were boosted by the home support yesterday after consecutive fixtures on the road over the last few weeks, and they will be hoping to carry over the momentum into next weekend where Stranraer make the trip to New Dundas Park.
