The Rose welcome The Spartans to NDP for this crucial match as we reach the final 3 games of the League season.

The Rose are currently in 8th place in the League and looking to move away from the bottom area of the league with 2 home games still to come. The Spartans are chasing a playoff spot in their first season in the league and currently sit in the final play-off position in 4th.

In our last game at East Fife, the Rose put in a very dominant performance in very tough windy conditions, and controlled the game coming out with a well-deserved 4-1 win. The Rose went behind after 8 minutes but quickly equalised through a Neil Martyniuk header, and went ahead through a Ross Gray shot into the top of the net. After more Rose domination they scored a 3rd goal before half time through Bradley Barrett after a Dean Watson shot had come off the crossbar. In the second half, against the wind, The Rose continued to dominate and were rewarded with a Kerr Young header from a Lee Currie corner to come away with all 3 points and a massive boost as we go into the final 3 games.

The Spartans last time at home to Stranraer drew 0-0 at Ainslie Park in a game of few chances played in difficult conditions.

In the previous match between the sides, that was played on a Tuesday night under the lights at NDP, it ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw. The Spartans took the lead on the 20-minute mark and the Rose were able to find the equaliser just before half-time through Keiran McGachie. The Spartans were awarded a penalty at the start of the second half which was converted. The Rose went down to 10 men late on when Neil Martyniuk was sent off but managed to secure a well-deserved point with a late penalty after Bradley Barrett had been fouled inside the penalty area.
