This weekend we travel to Stair Park to face Stranraer FC in this crucial match in Cinch League 2.

The Rose will be under the new Management team of Calum Elliot and Kevin Smith who have joined from Cowdenbeath. Calum shared his thoughts ahead of the game, and following his appointment, in his first interview for the club with James McKenzie. You can access this here.

There are only 2 points separating both The Rose and our opponents Stranraer from the bottom club Clyde as we go into this match, we wish the new Management team the best of luck. C’Mon the Rose!

An appreciation must go to both Robbie Horn, Davie Burrell and all the team who over the past 6 seasons have taken the club to historical levels in both League status and Cup success. Under their tenure they have given the club some incredible moments that will never be forgotten.

This is the second of consecutive away matches, after the trip last weekend to Dumbarton, where The Rose went down 2-0 in a game played in conditions that made playing good football difficult.

Stranraer made the trip to Methil to face an improved East Fife side under Dick Campbell, where despite taking the lead through an early goal, two second half goals from the home side left Stranraer just below The Rose on goal difference.

On our last visit to Stranraer (16/12/23), we went down 3-1 after losing a freak own goal after 5 minutes. The Rose had a few chances to get back into the game in the first half but were unable to get the breakthrough. We then lost two goals in a 15-minute spell in the second half and despite a very late Bradley Barrett strike from close range we left Stair Park empty handed.

In the last match between the sides (03/02/24) at NDP it ended in a 0-0 draw in a match played in very windy and difficult conditions where both sides cancelled each other out.
