This Saturday we make the trip to Dumbarton FC for the first of two crucial away matches before the trip to Stranraer next week.

The League is very congested in the bottom half where every point is vital. There are only 3 points separating the bottom 3 teams. The Rose are currently 8th in the table with Dumbarton 3rd and are chasing a play-off spot.

The Rose, after the 1-2 defeat against Clyde at NDP last week, will be looking for a change in fortune after going into the game with a number of injuries, a suspension and a number of players unwell. They took the lead after the first minute through Smart Osadolor and created a number of other chances especially in the first half. we went down to two goals mid-way through the second half from the visitors and despite having a shot cleared off the line The Rose could not find a leveller.

The Rose should have Neil Martyniuk available for selection again after suspension and will be hoping for no further injury or illness worries as we go into the vital last 7 games.

Dumbarton come into this game after the trip to Edinburgh where they defeated The Spartans 2-6 scoring 3 goals in both halves in a convincing win after having lost the previous two away games in this very competitive league.

In the previous meeting between the sides at NDP it ended in a hard fought 1-1 draw with The Rose taking an early lead through a Neil Martyniuk header from a Lee Currie corner. Dumbarton then dominated the second half and were rewarded with a goal early in the half, but The Rose hung on to get a well-earned point.

In the previous match at Dumbarton The Rose went down 4-0, despite a bright start. Dumbarton were awarded an early penalty and from there were able to control most of the game and ran out comfortable winners.
