We welcome the league leaders Stenhousemuir FC to NDP for this Cinch League 2 clash.

This is the first of two home games in a 3 day period as we meet The Spartans FC on Tuesday 05/03/24 at 7.45pm in a rearranged fixture postponed from 30/12/23. The Rose are currently in 7th place in the league, but only 1 point behind East Fife and Forfar, who are currently 5th and 6th, but The Rose still have the game with The Spartans in hand with only 4 points separating 5th place from 9th in this very competitive league.

Both sides come into this fixture with an identical record over the past 5 league fixtures, with 1 win,2 draws and 2 defeats, so both sides will be looking to improve this current record.

The Rose could have new signing Aaron Dunsmore available for selection following his loan transfer from Stirling Albion until the end of the season.

Last time out The Rose, after the long trip to Peterhead on the Tuesday night, went down to a 2-1 defeat at The Spartans where we conceded two goals in a 3-minute period mid-way through the first half, and despite an improved 2nd half performance, and a converted Neil Martyniuk penalty early in the second half, we were unable to grab the equaliser.

Stenhousemuir FC, managed by Gary Naysmith, went down to a surprising 6-1 home defeat to the currently bottom of the table Clyde, in what was their heaviest defeat this season, but are still 14 points clear at the top of the table, and still with the best defence in the league.

Stenhousemuir have won both of the previous meetings this season 1-0. In the last match between the sides in a snowy Stenhousemuir, The Rose went down to a goal mid-way through the first half, with both sides going down to 10 men in the 2nd half, with The Rose unable to take advantage of the earlier sending off before Kieran McGachie was sent off for The Rose in the final second, in what was a very close and competitive contest.

Previous games between the two sides have been very close with no more than 1 goal separating the teams in the last few meetings.
