Match preview Written by Stephen Reid.

Following on from the excellent team performance, and the unbelievable fan support at Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup, it is back to the bread and butter of Cinch League 2 action as we welcome East Fife to NDP on Saturday afternoon.

This is the first of 3 games in a week, with this game followed with a Tuesday night trip to Peterhead, and a trip to Ainslie Park to face Spartans on the 24th February.

East Fife now have the newly appointed, and highly experienced, Dick Campbell in charge after 7 years at Arbroath. Like The Rose they will be looking to move up the table as we start to reach the last third of the season.

The Rose will be looking to follow up the excellent performance and result we had against Elgin City in the last league game, where a Conor Doan double secured all 3 points, keeping us in fifth position in the league table. The Rose haven't conceded a League goal in the last 3 games and are unbeaten in the last six league home games.

East Fife secured a credible 1-1 draw against table toppers Stenhousemuir in their last league game, with both goals coming in the first half with a Nathan Austin equaliser securing a point for the Fifers. In the previous game between the sides at NDP The Rose ran out 4-2 winners, with goals from Smart Osadolor in the first half, and second half goals from Lee Currie and two penalties from Neil Martyniuk, with Austin and McManus replying for the visitors.

The Rose have won 1 and drawn 3 of the last 5 league games and will be looking to repeat the previous performance against East Fife, in the Friday night game just before Christmas, where a first half goal from Bradley Barrett and second half goals from Kerr Young and a Neil Martyniuk penalty secured all 3 points in Fife. East Fife have 1 win and 2 draws in the last 5 league games and currently sit in seventh place in what is a very competitive league where every point really matters.
