After a thrilling Scottish Cup victory against Falkirk at NDP last weekend, Bonnyrigg Rose secured themselves a 5th round tie with Aberdeen at Pittodrie next weekend.

Before that, they had to face 8th-placed Forfar Athletic at Station Park for some cinch League Two action and Robbie Horn would add two new signings to the squad.

Declan Byrne joins after a recent spell with Dumbarton and Sam Gormley arrives to provide another defensive reinforcement, most recently playing for Edinburgh City.

Rose would come into the game with 2 changes in personnel from the last match as Callum Connolly and new-signing Byrne were brought into the team.

The first half proved to have little-to-no clear cut chances for either side, with Lee Currie’s free kick coming closest to testing Marc McCallum’s goal. Rose were pressing well however couldn't present much danger for the Forfar backline.

The Loons couldn't cause Rose too many problems in the first-half, with Stewart Brewing player of the match Kerr Young preventing a lot of the home side's attacking play.

Young came giving Rose the lead early on in the second-half as he got on the end of a Lee Currie corner but could only head wide of the goal.

Smart Osadolor being brought on injected some intensity into the Rose attack, and he immediately created a good shooting opportunity for himself which forced Marc McCallum into making a superb double save to push the ball behind. Another chance would fall his way soon after a she ghosted in at the back post but couldn't find the mark.

Forfar had a chance to take all three points in the dying seconds of the game by Thompson's effort flashed wide of Paddy Martin's goal and ensured that the points would be shared on the day.
