Bonnyrigg Rose are back on the road this weekend as they make the long trip up north to Borough Briggs to face off against Elgin City. The Black and Whites currently sit at the foot of cinch League 2, having just win win so far, that coming at home to Dumbarton back in September.

However, their fortunes haven't been great this season and they have been on the receiving end of some humbling defeats, losing 6-0 away to Peterhead just over a month ago and losing 5-1 to Bonnyrigg Rose in the return fixture at New Dundas Park earlier this season.

In what was one of the best Rose displays so far since their arrival in the SPFL, the goals came in bursts before and after the half-time break. Neil Martyniuk, currently tied for the league's top scorer, put Rose in front from the spot, with Josh Grigor grabbing his first goal for the club just moments later to put Rose two to the good heading into the break. Goals from Reis Peggie and Smart Osadolor following the break had Rose smooth sailing and Martyniuk stepped up again from the spot with 10 to play to cancel out a Russell Dingwall penalty and ensure and favourable win for the Rose.

In recent weeks, things haven't got that much better for Barry Smith's side, with a defeat away to Stranraer coming shortly after a 6-0 shock Scottish Cup defeat to Jeanfield Swifts.

One thing the Black and Whites can perhaps take encouragement from is their home form as they have only lost once at home so far this season, turning around what was some poor form at Borough Briggs towards the tail end of last season.

Rose will be eager to bounce back from disappointing 4-0 defeat away to Dumbarton last week, and whilst the Black and Whites home form may be good, this could provide the perfect opportunity to get back in the win column.
