We’re back at NDP this weekend after a fantastic 2-0 win on the road against Clyde. Jason Jarvis came off the bench early doors to replace the injured Ross Gray and it didn’t take him long to make an impact. Peggie and Osadolor combined well to find Dean Watson in the Clyde box. The front man’s effort was blocked but with the Clyde defence failing the clear their lines, JJ was on hand to tuck it home right on the stroke of half time.

Rose controlled the second half and were rarely troubled. The game was set to finish 1-0 before another super sub got in on the action and what a moment it was. Having missed seven months of football through injury, Bradley Barrett came off the bench for the second weekend running and after Parry in the Clyde goal failed to clear his lines, Barrett lobbed him from 25/30 yards to spark jubilant scenes in the away end.

After the match, gaffer Robbie Horn challenged his side to follow up that win with another against Stranraer. Confidence should be high in the Rose camp after a solid start to the season and an impressive record against Stranraer last season. The first meeting ended in a 2-2 draw at Stair Park thanks to Lee Currie’s stoppage time penalty. Rose then followed that up with three consecutive wins against The Blues.

Both sides currently sit on four points from a possible six after two games having won one and drawn one. Stranraer kicked off their season with a 1-0 away to Elgin and followed that up with a 1-1 draw at home to East Fife. Stranraer were also in action midweek as they travelled to Annan Athletic in the SPFL Trust Trophy, exiting the competition after losing 3-1.
