There was no need for rotation following the weekend's win at Stranraer as Robbie Horn named an unchanged side to face title chasers Stirling Albion at New Dundas Park on Tuesday evening.
The visitors' got the action underway at quarter to eight, and by ten to eight they were in front. Following a scrappy bit of play in the Rose box, Binos' frontman Dale Carrick was on hand to smash home a rebound and give Stirling the lead. Rose immediately heaped on the pressure as they went in search of an equaliser.
A handful of chances for Kieran Mitchell from the edge of the area followed, two going wide, but the third bouncing off the wrong side of the post, a chance that was so close it had the opposite end of NDP in momentary raptures as they thought it was in. Chances for loanee Aaron Arnott and Zander Murray were off target, before Carrick's attempt for his second of the game was well saved down low by Paddy Martin. The final chance of the half went Rose's way, Murray firing into the arms' of Binos stopper Blair Currie.
A half the the Rosey Posey dominated for the most part, bad had nothing to show for.
Rose picked up from where they left off in the first period, keeping the pressure on the visitors' with Dean Brett firing an early effort over the bar. The chances kept coming for Rose but nothing was coming of it, a header cleared off the line and a brilliant low ball drilled across the face from Brett but no takers in front of goal.
It looked like all the Rose pressure was going to be killed off when Albion were awarded a penalty. Carrick stepped up to try and add his second of the game and fired left. Martin guessed left but it didn't matter as it came crashing back off the post, a slice of luck that Rose have been so desperately due. Attacking chances followed for Rose with Murray, Mitchell and Jonny Stewart making way for Ross Gray, Alieu Faye and Kevin Smith, the latter making a big impact on the proceedings.
Paddy Martin was called into action again, a magnificent flying save to deny a long rang effort which was arrowed towards the top corner. With just under ten to play, Rose finally drew level. Substitute Smith Rose highest to meet an Arnott corner and bring Rose deservedly level.
They wouldn't be level for long though as a late Greig Spence sucker punch with three to play stole the 3 points for Stirling Albion.
An undeserved loss for Bonnyrigg Rose on a cold February evening, but with two encouraging performances in a row from Bonnyrigg Rose, heads can be held high as we head into a massively important run of games, beginning with the visit of Forfar Athletic to NDP on Saturday afternoon.
