It all comes down to a final day clash against Elgin City at NDP for Robbie Horn’s Bonnyrigg Rose. With survival on the line and reduced ticket prices in effect, it’s sure to be a classic in Boomtown on Saturday.
Rose produced another fantastic defensive showing last weekend, holding Annan Athletic to a 0-0 draw at Galabank – showing a marked improvement from the Rosey Posey’s last visit to Galabank at the turn of the year.
The clean sheet kept by ‘keeper Paddy Martin and the whole backline was the team’s fifth shutout in the last six games. An incredible record that pushes Rose onto 12 clean sheets for the season, the second-best in the league overall.
Now, let’s talk about safety. It’s simple, really. A draw or win for Rose secures cinch League Two football in EH19 next season. A loss would leave it up to chance, with a victory for Albion Rovers enough to push them to 9th above Rose. The Rovers losing or drawing to league champions Stirling Albion would keep them bottom, regardless of the result at NDP.
Our guests to NDP this Saturday secured their spot in the division in the most sensational circumstances last weekend. With seconds left of stoppage-time, player / assistant manager Ross Draper rose highest in the mixer to seal a 1-0 victory over Dumbarton and push The Black and Whites up to 8th place in the table.
It’s been three tough battles versus Elgin City for Rose so far this season. A 2-0 defeat up north and a narrow 3-2 loss at NDP in the first half of the campaign was followed up by Kerr Young’s last minute headed winner in a vital 1-0 win at Borough Briggs in March.
Kick-off is 3pm on Saturday at New Dundas Park, Bonnyrigg. The reduced ticket prices in place are set at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, with U12s free when accompanied by a paying adult. As always, this weekend’s fixture is a Pay at the Gate (PATG) affair, and season tickets are valid. Our full NDP matchday guidelines can be found here.
For the last time in our maiden cinch League Two campaign, let’s get right behind the boys and give them the incredible support they have become accustomed to by you all, the Rosey Posey faithful.
‘Mon the Rose!
