Rose return to NDP this weekend to take on Stephen Farrell’s Dumbarton in a crucial cinch League Two clash.
With just one loss in the last seven games, Robbie Horn’s men have been in great form heading into the fourth last league game of Rose’s maiden SPFL campaign. Three consecutive clean sheets have helped the team rise to 8th in the league table.
Following two crucial wins over Albion Rovers and Stranraer, Rose battled hard against Stenhousemuir at Ochilview last Saturday. A game of two contrasting halves in terms of dominance in play, with limited chances for both sides throughout due to some solid defending, finished 0-0.
The Rosey Posey faithful were cursing out The Warriors some more come Tuesday evening, when they fell behind to Elgin City at Borough Briggs. A late equaliser from Ross Forbes saw Stenny snatch a point, with that draw keeping the Borough Briggs side behind Rose in the standings heading into Saturday’s round of fixtures.
Our visitors this weekend were all set to play on Tuesday evening, also, taking on Stirling Albion at the fourth time of asking following multiple postponements. And then the inevitable happened, as yet another cancellation halted any football from being played at The Rock once more.
The visitors will be searching for a win this afternoon to turn around a drastic drop-off in form. One draw and four losses in the last five, including a 5-1 annihilation handed out by Albion Rovers, has seen The Sons drop to second-place in the league.
Rose are yet to claim a Sons scalp so far this season, with two tight 1-0 losses on the road and a 1-1 draw at NDP in December all feeling like missed opportunities at the respective times.
A chance to finally grab that much-desired victory comes this Saturday, however, so get along to support the lads if you can!
Kick-off is 3pm at NDP. Tickets are £12 for adults and £7 for concessions, while under-12s accompanied by a paying adult go free. Season tickets are valid.
