Bonnyrigg Rose are back at home for the first time in three weeks as they welcome Elgin City to New Dundas Park in cinch League Two.
It was the Black and Whites who emerged victorious in the reverse fixture, inflicting Rose their first away league defeat as an SPFL club.
On the day, a sweet strike from Brian Cameron and a long-range effort from Kane Hester sealed the points for the home side.
A win on Saturday would see Rose go level on points with their opponents, who currently sit fifth in the table.
They have, however, lost their last league two fixtures, falling to defeat to East Fife at Bayview in their most recent outing.
Their standing, in large part, can be attributed to Hester being a goalscoring phenomenon across the season so far.
The striker is the top scorer in cinch League Two with 12 goals in 12 games, and has bagged 20 goals in all competitions – quite the feat considering we’re barely into November.
His clinical nature has Elgin as the second top scoring side in the division, behind only leaders Stirling Albion, who Rose squared off with last week.
In the familiar surroundings of Forthbank from their Lowland League days, it was a cruel defeat for Robbie Horn’s men.
A string of controversial decisions were the main talking points coming out of Saturday’s contest, with Dale Carrick’s brace either side of a Kevin Smith equaliser securing the point for The Binos.
A potential debut could be in the works this weekend for new Rose recruit Chris Kane, who could slot into a variety of roles for his first outing in red and white.
Kick-off is 3pm on Saturday at New Dundas Park. Tickets are £12 for adults (17-65), £7 for concessions (12-16, O65s and carers/disabled) and under 12s go free with a paying adult. Season tickets are valid.
