Following back-to-back wins at New Dundas Park, the Rose are back on the road. Robbie Horn’s men head west to North Lanarkshire to take on Caledonian Braves at Alliance Park.
Bonnyrigg are three from three over the Braves in past Lowland League meetings, with the last encounter between the two sides finished 2-0 to the Rose. Kerr Young and George Hunter grabbed the goals on that very blustery night last October to wrap up all three points.
Last season, Ricky Waddell guided his men to a 12th place finish before the Covid-19 pandemic prematurely ended the 2020/21 Lowland League campaign. Currently, his side currently occupy an improved 9th place position, accumulating seven points from five games played.
The Rose will hope to put an end to Caledonian’s good form after wins over Broomhill and University of Stirling, either side of an impressive draw against East Kilbride, kickstarted the Braves’ season following disappointing defeats on match days one and two.
The Rose can certainly take confidence from their recent performances at NDP with them on their travels. A 2-0 victory over Broomhill was followed up with a resounding 6-2 triumph over Gretna 2008 last Saturday.
Lee Currie, as to be expected, confidently dispatched from the penalty spot. Keiran McGachie grabbed his first goal of the season, as did centre-back Bob Wilson - who enjoyed his first so much he went on to grab another. And lastly, summer signing Kieran Hall grabbed his first two goals for the Rose to round off the thrilling victory.
Kick-off is at 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon at Alliance Park, though there is a limit of just 100 spectators allowed into the ground and we advise caution for any travelling supporters that there is no guarantee of entry.
For those travelling, admission is free for Caledonian Braves app users and non-app users are asked to ‘pay what you can.’
The game will be live streamed on their app and we will provide updates across our social media channels throughout the game.
