After two consecutive games on the road, the Rose return to New Dundas Park on Tuesday evening to welcome the newly christened Broomhill FC to Midlothian.
Formerly BSC Glasgow, it has been more than just the name that has changed in the close season for our midweek opponents. Manager Stephen Swift departed to pursue a new venture with League 2 outfit Stenhousemuir, taking multiple former players with him to FK5.
His replacement, former Rossvale boss David Gourmley, has been tasked with ensuring his squad of new recruits gel quickly with 14 new additions brought into the club so far since the end of last season.
Broomhill picked up their first win of the campaign at the weekend, seeing off Vale of Leithen 3-0 at the Indodrill after drawing their opening two fixtures of the season against the students of both Edinburgh and Stirling.
Bonnyrigg manager Robbie Horn says he’s looking for a reaction from his side after they suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, with a 91st minute winner consigning the Rose to a 3-2 defeat away to Civil Service Strollers.
The curtailment of the campaign meant that the two sides didn’t meet last season, but if their clashes in 2019/20 are anything to go by, their upcoming encounter should certainly be memorable.
In their previous incarnation, Broomhill inflicted the only home defeat of the Rose’s maiden Lowland League season, running out 3-1 winners at New Dundas Park. Bonnyrigg would take revenge in Alloa however, as an 89th minute winner from Ewan Moyes sealed victory in a 3-2 thriller.
Kick off is 7:45pm at New Dundas Park with tickets priced at £7 for adults and £4 for concessions, available to purchase at the link here or on a first come first serve basis at the gate. Season tickets are valid for this fixture.
