It’s a date at Dens with The Dee for Bonnyrigg on Saturday night, as the Rose travel to Championship side Dundee in the second round of the Scottish Cup.

For the second time in just over a year, the club will be shown live on national television, as the BBC Scotland cameras pitch up to take in the 7:45pm kick off.

Last season, it was our first-round clash with Buckie Thistle that saw the Beeb roll into town. The game will long be remembered for George Hunter’s stunning solo effort, which was awarded the goal of the tournament on A View from the Terrace.

After a small dry spell, Hunter was back to his best in the last round’s 5-2 win over Bo’ness United, scoring two and winning three penalties, all of which were coolly dispatched into the left-hand side, unsurprisingly, by Lee Currie.

The Rose have enjoyed pitting themselves against SPFL opposition in recent years, beating Montrose and only narrowly coming up short against Clyde in last year’s competition. Taking on a Championship side won't faze Rose either, as they became the first junior side in history to knock out a second-tier side when Adam Nelson’s 86th minute goal sealed a 1-0 over Dumbarton back in 2016.

On paper, The Dee should offer a far sterner test however. Unbeaten in their last six, James McPake’s sides are riding high off a comfortable 3-1 victory over league leaders Hearts. With 5 goals and 7 assists, former Scotland international Charlie Adam has been central to Dundee’s upturn in form, which has seen them score three goals in each of their last four outings.

The Rose will relish their underdog status and look to pull off another upset in the world’s oldest domestic cup competition. You can tune in to the BBC Scotland channel tomorrow night for Dundee v Bonnyrigg Rose, with build-up from 7.30pm ahead of the 7.45pm kick off.
