Bonnyrigg got off to the perfect start to their league campaign on a glorious sunny day at New Dundas Park.

The home side were awarded a penalty for handball on six minutes which Currie duly slooted home.

Bonnyrigg doubles their lead a minute after the restart when Roseburgh was alert to a short backpass and nipped in to score the second.
The visitors had a half chance when a long throw by Myles fell to Milne in a crowded box, but McDonald blocked his shot from close in.

The Gowfers went further behind in 55 minutes when a fierce drive by Manson was parried by the Carnoustie keepr but Roseburgh was quickest to the rebound for his second and Bonnyrigg's third.

The gaffer took the opportunity to make some changes on 65 minutes where Roseburgh and Gemmell were replaced by Grady and Burrell.

Bonnyrigg almost went further ahead when a cross by Grady was crashed against the post by a Renton header.

In 76 minutes Carnoustie’s defence was caught out by a long ball from Burrell which split the back line and Renton went through to make it four.
