Keiran McGachie is Retiring!

As Keiran McGachie announces his retirement from football, everyone at the club and its supporters extend heartfelt gratitude for his remarkable contributions to the club.

Keiran began his journey with Bonnyrigg Rose during a loan spell in the 2013–14 season. He returned permanently in July 2015 from Civil Service Strollers, embarking on a decade-long tenure that would see him become a cornerstone of the team. Over his time with the club, Kieran made over 250 appearances and netted more than 100 goals, solidifying his status as a fan favourite at New Dundas Park.

One of Keiran's standout seasons was the 2021–22 campaign, where his 15 goals played a pivotal role in the club’s Lowland League title win and subsequent promotion to the Scottish Professional Football League for the first time in the club's history.

Beyond his on-field achievements, Keiran's leadership, dedication, and passion have left an indelible mark on the club. His commitment to our club and the community has been unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed both on and off the pitch.

As he hangs up his boots, we celebrate Key's illustrious career and thank him for the memories, the goals, and the inspiration he provided. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

A few words from Keiran:
"What we as a club have achieved over the past 10 years is incredible.

We can’t lose sight of that, even in this set back.

The success of the club has always been built on tireless hard work and desire from players and non-playing staff, and the unity and passion shared between the supporters. This is something I am blessed and grateful to have been a small part of. I am most proud of my relationship with our exceptional community club and the connection I have with the boys and girls who play for the same team as I have. Everyone that wears the Bonnyrigg Rose badge has their own significance to the club. I can’t thank the supporters enough for giving me 10 magical years and hopefully I wore the badge with pride and integrity.

Those who know me well know I’ve struggled with significant ongoing injuries over the years, and now I cannot give the performances I want to on the park.

My last thanks goes to Robbie Horn, for taking a chance on a young man who hadn’t reached his potential in the game and no one else believed in.

My love will last forever.
Keys ”

Thank you, Keiran, for everything.
