SLFL vote in principal on April 4th

At the last General Meeting of the SLFL, all existing member clubs have been asked to consider whether we want to continue with the principle of B teams in the league. A General Meeting will be held virtually on 4 April 2022 at which a vote will be taken. If clubs vote in favour of continuing with guest clubs it will then be for the Board to review the terms and conditions and make any necessary arrangements.

As we did last year we are giving our members, which constitute our season ticket holders, sponsors, committee and life members to chance to share their views on the proposal. We are a supporters club so as with most decisions of this magnitude we will leave it up to our members to decide in order to make sure that the decision we make is representative of our fan base, rather than the opinions of a few.

We would ask our members as listed above who wish to vote to get in touch using the Contact form or send us an email and would appreciate it if they could use one of the forms above to give their thoughts either way. We will also take in person votes at our South Challenge Cup quarter final at NDP vs Bo’ness Utd on Saturday April 2nd.

Closing date for supporter votes/comments back to us is Sunday April 3rd at 18:00. This will allow us some time to react to either the acceptance or rejection of the proposal by our members and we will use that mandate at the general meeting the following day.

Non season ticket holders also have the opportunity to get in touch with their views via the means above, as they come to games and invest in the club such as through our weekly lottery and 50/50 club draws, supporters’ wall and other fundraising initiatives etc. so we feel it is important to give these supporters a voice as well. We would stress that we only want to hear the views of our supporters, but would encourage supporters of all Lowland League clubs to get in touch with their club on their feelings about the proposal. Email addresses for all clubs can be found by clicking on a club name in the league table on the Lowland League website.
