Away to East Fife FC - 13th April 2024

Written by Stephen Reid

We are back on the road again as we travel to Methil to face a rejuvenated East Fife team.

The Rose come into this game after the 2-2 draw at NDP against Peterhead. In a game that was played in extremely difficult windy conditions The Rose twice took the lead in this game, with the first goal coming from Bradley Barrett, with a shot from the edge of the penalty box midway through the first half. The Rose kept the lead until 10 minutes into the second half when Peterhead equalised with a close-range header. The Rose then were able to regain the lead through a Lee Currie free kick from 20 yards. Peterhead equalised deep into injury time, costing The Rose a valuable two points as we look to move away from the bottom area of the league table.

East Fife after the trip to Stenhousemuir where they held the League Champions to a 0-0 draw are still chasing a play-off spot and will pose a tough challenge.

On our last visit to the MGM Timber Bayview Stadium the Rose ran out 3-0 winners in a game played on the Friday night just before Christmas through goals from Bradley Barratt, Kerr Young and a Neil Martyniuk penalty. The Rose were worthy winners in what was a very dominant performance.

The Rose have won 2 out of the 3 meetings this season and will be looking to maintain this positive record against the Fife team.

East Fife are currently top of the form guide over the past 10 games under Dick Campbell in this very competitive league, where every point will be vital, as we reach the last 4 games of the season.

Eyes will also be on the results coming from Dumbarton and The Spartans where Clyde and Stranraer are the visitors.
