After drawing 1-1 with Whitburn in the original final, the Rose produced a stunning performance in the replay at Hampden Park, running out 6-1 winners in front of more than 10,000 supporters. The goals came from Ian Paterson (2), Tommy Davidson (2), Duncan Henderson and Bobby Nisbet as the Rose completed one of the most famous victories in the club’s history.

The victory remains one of the club's greatest achievements and was a landmark occasion for the town of Bonnyrigg, with celebrations continuing long into the night after the team returned home.

The 1966 side represented the spirit of the club and the wider community, with local families, volunteers and supporters all playing their part during one of the most memorable eras in Bonnyrigg Rose history.

Sixty years on, the achievements of that legendary team continue to hold a special place in the hearts of the Rose support.
