Stalemate at New Dundas Park

Bonnyrigg Rose drew with second-placed Peterhead in a highly anticipated cinch league 2 matchup with plenty of chances throughout the game.

The deadlock was broken in the 20th minute when Kerr Young connected with a precise delivery from Lee Currie's corner, heading the ball home to put Rose in the lead. Paddy Martin then showcased his class by saving a penalty from Kieran Shanks, diving to his top-left corner to save, the same direction that saw Shanks convert the decisive penalty in the previous encounter at Balmoor Stadium in September.

As the first half drew to a close, Peterhead came close to equalising, with Joe McKee's effort narrowly going over the crossbar. However, McKee redeemed himself early in the second half with a powerful free kick that was curled beyond Paddy Martin's reach, levelling the score for the Blue Toon.

It would be Rose who would have the most chances of the half with Dean Watson, Conor Doan and Smart Osadolor all having clear cut opportunities, but none of them could find the winning goal Rose were seeking and the points were shared on the day.

The Rose faithful have reason to be optimistic, as their team has demonstrated resilience and competitiveness against top-tier opponents over the last few weeks.

Robbie Horn's men will now look to maintain this momentum in their upcoming fixture next Saturday away from home against Stranraer.
