Both teams had clear-cut chances in the early stages, with Stenhousemuir coming close from a set-piece as Gregor Buchanan got on the end of Adam Brown's delivery but couldn't beat Paddy Martin with his header. Bonnyrigg Rose presented their first threat of the game with a number of opportunities falling Taylor Sutherland's way but he couldn't''t find the net despite a strong first-half showing.

The hosts broke the deadlock on 25 minutes with Matty Aitken finding the target in the 6-yard box. Despite this setback, Bonnyrigg Rose continued to create dangerous opportunities, with Taylor Sutherland and Conor Doan both being denied by Darren Jamieson in a back-and-forth first half.

The second half saw Stenhousemuir maintaining possession early on, and Bonnyrigg got a reprieve when Matty Yates missed a one-on-one with Paddy Martin.

However, Adam Brown received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 75th minute, presenting a massive opportunity for Rose to try and snatch a point from the game, but they couldn't provide the finishing touch in the final few moments of the game.

Referee Collin Whyte's book remained busy, showing substitute Keiran McGachie a second yellow card in the dying moments of the game for what the referee deemed to be a dive in the Warriors penalty box.

Rose will aim to bounce back against another of the stronger sides in the division as they face off against second-placed Peterhead at NDP.
